We're back safe and sound after a fantastic (if damp!) week of activities at Winmarleigh. More photos to follow....
At the end of another day, tired but happy!
Treasure Trail Day Two
Day Two - The Year 5 children were invited to walk around Barrowford Village. They had a busy afternoon writing directions, searching for facts and looking for certain items along the way. The sun shone and lots of fun was had.
Visit to Downham
Some of our Year 5 pupils visited Downham village in May to take part in a treasure trail of the village. This trip was organised by Pendle Hill Landscape Partnership and will eventually lead to the children creating a treasure trail for Barrowford Village.
Helmshore Textile Museum
What a great day we had at the Helmshore Textile Museum! We learnt about the process of spinning from before the industrial revolution and how it changed with the introduction of increased mechanisation. The children experienced the noise and heat of the spinning shed - the machines were deafening and very dangerous. We also learnt about the sort of objects that would have been used in a Victorian household and how hard it was to do every day chores such as washing and ironing. One of our top visits!
