BARROWFORD ST THOMAS' CE PRIMARY SCHOOL - ECO CLUB...

In the Summer 2015 term Barrowford St Thomas' CE Primary school was one of the key sites visited by the North West Villages in Bloom judges on July 22nd  as part of the Barrowford entry.

Judges admired the baskets hanging on the front fence, which were planted by the children and sponsored by a Lancs Green Award grant. They also visited the fruit and flower beds planted by the Eco committee on the top field and were blown away by the knowledge and enthusiasm of the children.

We are delighted that the village was finally awarded Silver and very proud of the children's good work.

CARING FOR OUR CREATION - FEEDING THE BIRDS

The Eco Committee have been caring for the local birds during the recent cold and wet weather by making fat balls and hanging them in the school grounds. The children learned what ingredients make up a fat ball and why these are important for the birds during an especially wet Spring.
